All our Catholic Worker houses and projects need volunteers and community members-
Please contact the relevant house for more information about how to join in with our life and work, and about our volunteer opportunities.
Dorothy Day House and the Community Cafe and 'Urban Table' soup kitchen it runs, are also the base for a dispersed London Catholic Worker Group, for those interested in being involved in the full vision of the Catholic Worker, but not able to make the commitment to living full-time in one of the Houses. Please contact Dorothy Day House for more information.
If you were a member or volunteer you would be living in and running a community house which involves cooking and cleaning, shopping and sorting donations, talking with and listening to guests and visitors. You could be gardening, protesting, leafletting or vigilling, making banners and placards praying with us. You would be helping to produce and mail out the newsletter. You could be doing DIY, cycling, typing up notes, checking the email, organising activities or co-ordinating other volunteers. You could be answering letters or keeping the books, leading discussions and talks, or participating in Bible study and praying with us. All of these things and more make up the life of a Catholic Worker.
